OK, so it is 8:00 am. I am getting ready to take the kids to school, there is a bunch of kids on the street. Suddenly I hear this very, very loud popping sounds from the street. I thought someone was messing with fireworks. After the 10th pop, I got out to see what's up. The electrical lines in front my house were spontaneously exploding. I am not fucking kidding! Every 5 inch or so, the lines exploded with a huge shower or sparks. I was just looking at what's gonna burn and if there is someone underneath.
It lasted just from the transformer to the next pole but it fucking burned my car! There are two burn marks on the back windshield and one on the bumper.
Just imagine I was on time and the kids would be standing right under the wires and the fire.
I need a drink. Fuck
OMFG! That must have been very scary.I'm glad you and the girls are ok.
miss you. hugs.

This happened at 8 am. Entergy showed up at 10:30 am. Apparently, sparking power cables near elementary school don't concern them that much.
They turned the power for about 20 min, did "something" and left. The cables are still there - burned. They said that the cables sparked because they were touching. They separated them but left them there - burned and in my unprofessional opinion pretty unsafe looking.
So, if you ever come to my house, don't hang out in my driveway, you might get electrocuted. But Entergy said it's OK.

If the lines themselves are clearly visibly burned then the integrity of the insulation is questionable. They should replace them.
Call Entergy back and tell them there is no way it should be OK to have burned lines near where kids play, walk to / from school, etc.
If they give you a hard time, call Shelly Midura's office (504-658-1010) - she is the head of the City Council utility committee - and Jay Blossman's office (985-624-4660) - he is the chair of the LA PSC.
Entergy's rates - and therefore their profits - are set by the city council and the PSC, so complaints to those organizations threaten Entergy's pocketbooks and are really the only language they understand.
