I am generally busy these days with the kids, paperwork, finances and such.
However, tonight, after dinner, I picked up some old newspaper on the table. My mom was using the computer so I had to read for change. I was reading the New Orleans section from Sat. April 26 (don't ask my why it is here, got no clue). Anyway, I did not realize the paper is so entertaining. When we lived in Chicago, we read Onion (fake news). This news is real but equally absurd - the city is paying millions more to waste management companies because many addresses are listed double and some even don't exist. On another note I learned that the Corps(es) were stuffing the flood walls with newspaper. This is in 2006. The chief public affairs officer responded "you had a lot of work being done to get things up to snuff". I laughed so hard. Did not know that stuffing flood walls with newspaper was considered getting things up to snuff after a major flood.
I got to start reading the paper again. It is really absurd humor. So I guess I am gonna look for some inflatable raft and a stack of newspaper. Love this city.
