As reported here year after year, Nike Woods (yes, for 1.2 Billion Euros, Eldrick sold his first name to Nike, Inc. His full name is now "Nike Puregreed Woods") refused to come to New Orleans to play in the Zurich golf tourney. Again.
In 2006, when we could have really used the publicity for recovery, he claimed that he was taking time off to spend more time with his ailing father. In fact, he went car racing and bungy jumping. Bitch.
In 2007, he just dissed us outright.
Sure, he's been here before. As an amateur. Never as a professional.
Compare this to Lefty, who donated a quarter million in 2006, and Michelle Wie, who donated a half million. Wow. Thanks.
I'm kind of torn about Zurich. I'm glad they pony up to sponsor the golf tournament, but why does their subsidiary, Farmers, have to rape us?
At least the real heroes are showing up at the golf course. Can you get chefwear in kevlar? (thanks Schroeder)
For crying out loud, Nike Tiger Nike wasn't even here to film the damned Buick commercial in da Quarter. Bluescreened.
So the question becomes, is he just such a fuckmook that he doesn't care about New Orleans a single iota, or is he afraid to come to one of the five Blackest cities in the USA?
Fucking racist.
I mean, he has to be a racist, right? He can't hate New Orleans that much...can he?
Ashley, Paul Prudhomme looks awful. I know that at 67 or so he's even older than me and that he had a serious weight problem but tell me he's OK. Is his place still open?

He's lost a bunch of weight (about 3-4 years ago) and actually looks a lot better than he used to, and is a lot healthier/more active. His place was one of the first ones open after Katrina/flood and it's still one of the best in New Orleans.

FWIW, I've always heard that Tiger does not play the tourney here as a result of being shaken down by Morial cronies the last time he made a promotional appearance here on behalf of his kids foundation, circa 1999-2000. That's the rumor, anyway.

Mickelson seems like a real good guy. There are a ton of stories like this out there about him.

I heard woods wont come here anymore because the last time he came, he went to play at Metairie Country Club, and because of their strict no blacks or jews rule, was asked to go in through the back door...thats the word anyway

Wow that's interesting. Good news though, they make easy to use bikini hair removal creams. They work just as good as a wax for women who still want to be clean down there.

All I can say is , what do you expect from those peploe? They have been devastated physically, emotionally, and probably spiritually. They have been basically left there to fend for themselves and their families, while their so called president is taking a working vacation worrying about how things look on his back-woods ranch! Maybe they would have been able to deploy more police, or military if they were not over in Iraq fighting a sensless and illegal war. Clinton got impeached for having an affair, so how this president doesn't have nothing happen to him, I have no idea. What I do know is that those peploe have a long hard road to recovery ahead of them and I am not religious, but I am certainly praying for them! GOD SPEED peploe of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama!

South Louisiana and Florida are BOTH very hot humid in summer, but August is tusriom low season in New Orleans and that is why the hotels cost less. NOLA is a fairly big city with lots to do, including many indoor attractions (museums, aquaium, etc.), but it is not on the ocean so FL would be better ifyou want a beach.New Orleans is one of the world's special places with an ambience unique in North America, and remains so even after Katrina devastated it in 2005.Katrina flooded about 80% of New Orleans with salt water, and the water stayed for almost a month. Much of the city is still struggling to recover and all you have to do to see devastation is drive around. It will take years for NOLA to fully recover from Katrina. However, the parts of the city that tourists usually visit were not flooded. It's not a coincidence the French Quarter and other old parts of the city were built on relatively high ground and only suffered wind damage from Katrina. Almost all of the damage has been repaired and you have to look closely in the FQ and city center to see that Katrina happened at all. Note that the City of New Orleans is only part of the greater New Orleans area. The GNO area had a population of about 1,400,000 before Katrina and is estimated at about 1,200,000 now (July, 2007). The absent 200,000 are mostly from the City of New Orleans and the parishes of Plaquemines and Saint Bernard, which were the worst-flooded parts of the metro area. Jefferson Parish just to the west of the City suffered only minor flooding and has fully recovered. You can drink the water, the electricity phones work, and services like the post office, hospitals, schools, police/fire/EMS, and stores shopping centers are operating. Municipal services like street cleaning trash collection collapsed after Katrina. Those services were fully restored in late 2006 and it is no longer an issue.IYou don't need a car to get around in the French Quarter, Central Business District, or Warehouse District. Also, the parking regulations are Byzantine and there are lots of Parking Control Agents. If you drive or rent a car, leave it in a lot or garage unless you are traveling away from downtown. The regional transit authority (www.norta.com) sells 1 and 3 day passes that offer unlimited use of buses and streetcars for the day(s) you select. There are also lots of taxicabs.Regarding crime, use the same common sense necessary in every major city in the world and there is little chance you will be a victim of anything except a need to visit the gym: Pay attention to your surroundings. Stay away from anywhere dark deserted. Pay attention to your feelings if anyone or anywhere gives you a bad feeling, leave the area. Don't leave something like a camera-bag or backpack unattended on a park bench while you wander off to take photos. Etc.You should visit and see for yourself!

, Four more years! on national and local teioilsven, and local news anchors smiled at this. I almost choked on my mirliton stew as a friend kept me from throwing the remote at the TV.This, my friend, is why I will be surprised if NOLA gets back on its feet, better than before. We are the welcome mat of this nation and aren't screaming loud enough when we get the opportunity.Four more years, indeed. Give me my money back, G Bitch (the prez, I mean).
