Rebirth of Michael Lewis, that is.

The Beerman had 6 punt returns for a total of 63 yards, including a 23 yarder, in his first game for the 49ers. The niners aren't even using him as a kick returner, where he is a god; they're also not using him as a receiver, where he could even catch passes thrown by Aaron Brooks.

Reggie Bush, OTOH, has returned 2 punts for 12 yards.

That's not completely Reggie's fault - our blocking on O-line and special teams is lousy right now, the runner can only do so much when he doesn't get effective blocking.
