Get thee to Dan Baum's blog, where you can read about both the PigeonTown Steppers (with video!), and see what may be the best looking oyster po-boy I have ever seen.
If that ain't enough for you, you can even read about a (get this) marinated seared tuna steak po-boy. Boo-yah.
I emailed Dan yesterday, and he had no idea that NOLA had such a...well...active blogging community. I told him (speaking only for myself), "we may not be talented, but we're passionate".
Daaaaamn right on that active blogging community! We also know how to appreciate good food when we taste it and...uh...see it.
Mmmmm...po' boy...

Parkway rulez.

I rented out Parkway for my rehearsal dinner last July. I love that place.

I may actually have to make the drive over to Parkway at some point, since my neighborhood triad of The Bakery-Teddy's-Vazquez have all gone submariner on me.

That blog is spectacular.
But he's new here, and moved here after the storm, so we should run him out of town anyway, in keeping with our "Pedigree Uber Competence" slogan. Fucking carpetbagger.

Ashley, your blog has officially had real-life repurcussions today: I ate at Parkway for lunch. The 1/2 and 1/2 shrimp and oyster poboy is a golden, delicious beast.

I was going to go there, but my wife's computer came back from Apple, and she wouldn't go anywhere. Feh.

Goddamn. Good thing I'll be in town for jazz fest, because Indiana has NOTHING that good. And my hunger can only be satisfied by a Uglesich's oyster po-boy... two more weeks, baby.

Uh...senior...I don't have good news: http://www.gumbopages.com/looka/archive/2005-05.html#5

Ray, sounds good to me.
Keep in mind, I'm prone to rubbing pot roast all over my chest.
Posted by: ashley | 12 April 2007 at 08:23 PM
As long as you're dressed.
(geddit? dressed? i crack myself up.)
Posted by: Ray | 12 April 2007 at 08:56 PM
FYI, Senor Senior is actually Senorita Senior. :-)
Posted by: senior | 12 April 2007 at 11:45 PM
Which reminds me, my favorite Mexican rap song is Si Senor by Control Machete.
Posted by: ashley | 13 April 2007 at 02:01 AM
Woohoo! Mexican rap at Parkway (which, by the way, I've never been to). When are we all goin'?
Posted by: liprap | 13 April 2007 at 07:14 AM
Ooooooh, actually, I prefer senoritas.
Two weeks? Should we set a date for this? They're closed on Tuesdays.
Posted by: Ray | 13 April 2007 at 08:31 AM
I don't think the Senorita gets here for 2 more weeks. Let her decide -- she's the critical path.
Posted by: ashley | 13 April 2007 at 08:35 AM
Sounds good to me. Mmmmmm...po' boys...
You think Da Po' Boy might like to join us, incidentally? Or is he just a real life Bruce Wayne of the Bloggaz?
Posted by: liprap | 13 April 2007 at 09:23 AM
I'm only in town from the 27th to the 29th, and it's mainly for an interview with teachNOLA on that saturday. so I don't have a ton of time in town, and I'm sure you all are busy with family-things and jazzfest-things... but I'd love to meet all of you if there's a time for this.
