I've been feeling really not good this week, especially the past couple of days. The investigative reporting stuff isn't my bag, and I don't have the stomach for too much of it. But I'm fighting the good fight to help this damn city of my dreams get back on her feet, cleaner than ever.
The petty bickering with friends and aquaintances in the blogosphere about everything from the lie that is the Musicians Village to the passive heinousness of the bears fans has tired my ass out.
But in a week, Krewe du Vieux. Our subkrewe yearning: to go back to an era of competent corruption.
So I'm hoping that NOLA will give me something to grab for. Hey, it worked for Ric Ocasek...no wonder he didn't go back on tour with the Cars. Stay at home and stare at my wife, or play for old drunks...hmmm.
BTW, Ocasek means "cute little tail" in Czech. "I'd like Things Only Ashley Knows for a thousand, Alex."
I'm getting the congo square poster this year...Phil rocks.
This made me feel a little bit better. It also reminded me just how much we lost when Dinerral was shot. And it made me threaten my wife again: when I die, you better second line.
Speaking of Kermit, February 12 is the release date of "Kermit Ruffins live at Vaughn's". Recipe for a party: Rum, Daiquiri machine, this album. If Kermit shows up, you may have to add ganja to the equation. Hey! Whoa!
Finally, happy Fats Domino day.
I love the theme "Habitat for Insanity." That's good.
Refresh, recharge. You sound like you could use a little vacation away.

Whoo, hang in there.
Need me to send over Jerry Lee Lewis' latest? His version of "Rock and Roll" kicks some proverbial ass.

Burma gone wild! I've always loved me some Jones.
And since you are feeling down, here's a song my fiance sings just for people in your situation. Kinda sums up how we all feel everyone once in a while in the midst of this "mental health crisis."

Comrade Edwards will become Dear Leader. Our costumes are prison uniforms...it will make sense, and look fabulous!
Varg, thanks for the link...I'm beginning to think I need my own personal music therapy: playing music with other people. Sweet tune.

Who dat in the link to stay at home and stare at my wife?
Posted by: Marco | 27 January 2007 at 07:53 PM
Yeah you right, Comrade Morris. PAN has given Edwin sort of a Malevich Soviet art look. We're attaching the poster to the float tomorrow, it's going to look great. We'll actually have a penis free float too. Power to the Soviets...
