Is John Edwards going to really help the Gulf Coast? Or are we just a photo opportunity for the well-coiffed trial lawyer?
I don't know.
I would hope that his choosing of New Orleans as the place to announce his presidential candidacy means that he cares. Since we mainly are focused on one issue, wouldn't it have been nice for him to say this:
"I have not forgotten you, and America has not forgotten you on the Gulf Coast. If elected, we will do everything in our power to rebuild this coast, torn apart by hurricanes Katrina and Rita, as well as rebuilding the greatest city in the Americas, devastated by the criminally negligent construction and maintenance of the federal levees and floodwalls".
Oh well... at this point, he's said more than anybody else has, or perhaps will.
Sinn Fein may only get us so far...
If Kerry is the Democratic nominee again, I'm moving to Scotland.

My Czech wife learned English in Glasgow. People in Edinburgh can't understand people from Glasgow. That explains so much...

And I don't think Kerry will be the nominee, although the twit may run. OTOH, Gore may run again, and may even be selected.

I'd like to see Edwards/Wes Clarke (someone with foreign policy/military credentials).
That ticket would definitely have my vote.
