From Mike Triplett at the T-P:
They added offensive tackle Rob Petitti and receiver Terrance Copper from the Dallas Cowboys, cornerback DeJuan Groce from the St. Louis Rams, cornerback Curtis Deloatch from the New York Giants and defensive end Michael Haynes from the Chicago Bears.
To address our glaring weaknesses at defensive end and receiver? Where's all the linebackers, Sean? Where's the run stopper?
And another receiver, when you just cut Horn and Hass?
Copper (6-0, 207) has only eight receptions in two years, but he is a solid player on special teams coverage units and has returned kickoffs in the past.
To quote Sam Kinison: Ohhhhh Ohhhhhh.
Mr. Payton, perhaps you've heard of a certain Mr. McAfee? Allow me to quote from this article:
In McAfee's last 27 games he has 57 tackles credited to him. Those kind of numbers are astonishing and should have been taken into consideration.
Either it's one of those things that's just so far over my head, Payton doesn't expect me to understand, or, well, it isn't.
Those of you who were old enough remember what Bum Phillips did when he got here. He brought all his old Oilers in here with him. Hell, he traded Archie for an ancient offensive lineman (Leon Gray) who played like one season for us.
I hope this doesn't happen again. But his "mentor," Bill Parcells did the same thing. How many times did he bring guys like Dave Meggett, Pepper Johnson, Jumbo Elliott and Vinny Testaverde along with him when he switched teams?

Old enough to remember? Ouch. That hurts. As I am plenty old enough. But yes, I remember the bum rush - didn't he bring in Stabler too?
