So 6 months goes by without our friends at NOPSI...er...Entergy sending me a bill.
Folks, this cannot be a good sign.
It wasn't. I received six months of bills in a 2 day period. Here's the last one.
Ouch.
For those of you that don't want to read the whole bill, here's the money shot.
Yes, that's $1600 they charged me for gas and electricity. In 2 days. Note that the entire amount is due on June 29.
Surprisingly, when I called them up, they offered to let me spread the charges over a 6 month period with no penalty or interest.
So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.
Glad to know that we customers can help ensure that the stockholders keep their record profits. Welcome to post-capitalism, W style.
Update: Trina has a similar heinous problem with our friends at the S&WB.
Sweet zombie Jezus!
Last month I cleared my house account with Entergy from August, was only $600.
It's time for a city-owned power company.

Even for 6 months in this market that bill sounds high. Is it within your normal parameters? Ours rarely gets higher than $175. And your house doesn't seem to be much bigger than mine.
Maybe you should hit up Dollar Bill for some money to pay the bill. Surely, he has some cash lying around somewhere.

Years ago (Jesus! 20 years ago!) I rented a half-double on Port St., which was down the street from a church. One month, I got an electric bill for $500! I went down there and found out they billed me for the church's electricity. I haven't trusted them since.

From one who has audited the billing of almost every power company in the U.S.

Entergy sprayed the right of way on my property and left all the dead vegetation. It is ugly and I want it removed. I have been trying to go through proper channels to resolve this matter. Can you help?
I called customer service in April and was reffered to Mr. Paul Lemoine then Mr. Adcock.
Mr. Paul Lemoine told me "Entergy doesn't have to clean up anything they don't want to".
Mr. Adcock won't even return my calls or email. Below is a copy of the email I sent him. Repeated calls to customer service have landed me back at Mr. Adcock.
original message sent on 4-24-08.
