Once again, I'm vacillating between hopelessness and anger. Yesterday was hopelessness, which explains my excursion to Evel Knievel land.
Today is anger. All aboard!
Why the fuck can the feds bail out ComEd after 9/11, but they won't help Entergy in the slightest? These bastards are starting to really piss me off. Why in hell can they respond to a fucking Australian Cyclone, but not to New Orleans. Grrrrrrrrr.
Just to be clear, I think that the typical New Orleanian no longer sees Republican or Democrat. We see those that are trying to help, and those that aren't.
One way to help in New Orleans is for local voters to vote the IQ ticket. In case you're wondering, these are people that have said they will take the assessor's budget, and use it to hire real assessors. How novel. These are the IQ candidates. Maybe print out this list of candidates, and select all the ones with the nickname IQ. The secretary of state hasn't changed this list yet, but the IQ name will NOT appear on the ballot. Bring this with you to cross reference.
Oh, Allstate. You're on my shitlist. You fuckwads won't write new policies in New Orleans, yet you ponied up how many million to sponsor a football game? In New Orleans? Pissing on us while we're down, eh? The folks at the 3rd battle aren't too happy either.
I am not believing that I missed this. SHIT!!!! I found out that the Emeril Food network was cutting Iron Chef down from 5 days a week to 1, and I happened upon it. SHIT!!! When will I ever get the chance to eat a meal prepared by Sakai-san again? AAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH.
In the rest of the world, ETA declared a cease fire. Last time I was in Madrid, I stayed at a nice budget hotel. The next day, we went to Paris. While in Paris, I read in a newspaper that the cinema across the street from the hotel was destroyed in an ETA bombing. This is truly significant news.
Finally, may two of my friends rest in peace: Larry Jackson, son of Ms. Leatha. I found out about this last week. I found out about Damon Ward getting shot to death right before a parade.
See you on the other side, guys. You both made me laugh, you both made me a happier person.
You're cute when you're angry, dude...

Would you believe I was going to leave the exact same comment?

DUDE! My little brother works at the Whole Foods on Magazine, and the Chinese Iron Chef came to the store last week! He was shopping with a camera crew in tow, so we'll probably have some MORE coverage (albeit, food channel coverage is better than most).
