Entergy bill

Can someone explain to me why after turning off A/C for a month and turning lights on as little as possible, my electricity usage is HIGHER than previous month?

Seriously, we had A/C or heat on all the time and there were at least 3 lights on all night long, sometimes even all day long. In March we supposedly used 690 kWh and in April (without A/C and lights) we used 744 kWh. I tried to talk to the customer service idiot who read me the bill (ehm, I can read) and tried to explain to me that the cost of electricity is higher. By the way, in April it was actually lower but never mind.

I wonder if the electricity usage is somehow an inverse phenomenon - the less you use, the more you get charged. Maybe if I run the A/C on 68 I will use only 400 kWh.

My head hurts now

Was either bill estimated?

That could explain the discrepancy.

nope. The meter reading is accurate. Nevertheless it does not make any sense how I can use more electricity with everything turned off.

when were the readings taken? it might be possible that they were taken at odd days or for different intervals. "April" might actually have been 35 days or the prior month only 25. I used to have odd dates when I lived in the city.
